A Little More About Me!

Recently I was thinking, I haven’t really told you all much about me. So this week I’m going to tell you a little more about my life and what I want to do in the future.

First of all, I got my inspiration to create this blog from Tanya Burr, Zoë Sugg, and Niomi Smart. I discovered Zoë on YouTube when she had just over 1 million subscribers, and now that she’s just hit 10 million is incredible, I am extremely proud of her, as well as Tanya and Niomi, and all the other Youtubers I watch. I’ve wanted to start this blog properly for a few years, but never really knew what to write about. But at the start of this year, I thought, you know what, I’m just gonna do it. My dream is to become a YouTuber like Zoë, and create my own beauty brand, release books, and create other amazing things, so starting this blog is what I’m hoping will be the beginning of my future, but we’ll see. To do YouTube as a fulltime job would be amazing, but obviously, I cannot guarantee that this will be my future, but a girl can dream right?

If this blog and YouTube does not work out for me as I hope it will, then I would love to become a professional makeup artist, running my own business, or working for a company like Universal or Warner Bros, creating the special effects makeup for the people in the films and shows. Imagine that?! Again, I know this is very ambitious and would take a lot of work to achieve, just like YouTube would, but it’s what I enjoy, and putting in lots of work to something I enjoy isn’t an issue for me.

As I’m in my last year of school now, and have to sit my GCSEs in the summer, I have decided what I’m going to when I leave. For me, a BTEC college course is the best option, because, as I’ve just told you, I enjoy the industry of makeup and special effects makeup. So for the 1st year of college, I am going to complete the Level 2 Hair and Beauty qualification, so then in the 2nd year, I can move on to complete the Level 3 qualification in Media, Special Effects and Theatrical Makeup. I am very excited to finish school and go on to do something I love for the rest of my life.

After reading this I hope you got to know I little more about me, and after reading about my ambitions in life and how determined I am to achieve my goals, I hope all of you accomplish your life goals, because after all,  anything can happen if you put in the effort. Good things happen to those to wait, but even better things happen to those to work hard to do what they want for the rest of their lives. I wish you good luck in everything to want to do, and I would love to hear about your life goals, so leave them in the comments below for me to have a read of!

Thanks for reading, and again, good luck in the future!

Weekend Shopping OOTD!

This week, I thought I’d show you an outfit that I wore last weekend when I went shopping with my family. I chose this outfit as the weather was quite chilly but wasn’t raining, so I was finally able to wear my new coat again! I haven’t worn it since Christmas day and I’ve been itching to wear it again!

Burgundy skirt – New Look - I got this skirt when I went shopping with my auntie a few weeks ago and last weekend was the first time I wore it. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be including it in this post as she was the one who found it and suggested I should try it on, and when I did, I loved it! It’s a burgundy/dark red colour, and feels suede, although it’s more of a cord material like my green pinafore.

White roll neck top – ASOS - I got this as part of my Christmas outfit and it’s really really comfy! It is a little see through which some people see as a concern, but if you wear the right bra, its fine. Plus, I never took my coat of so I could cover up if I wanted to anyway! This is just a plain white cotton material with a thin roll neck that can be rolled however you like, which I really like. I hate the ones that are sewn into place; I always want to move it!

Tights – Asda - I picked these tights up last week as I needed some new ones for school. As it was cold, I knew I’d be freezing if I went out in bare legs, so I just put a pair of plain black tights on. I think these ones are 80 denier, which isn’t too thick, nor too thin.

Chelsea boots – Topshop - I looooove these boots! They go with any outfit, dresses, jeans, skirts, jumpers, the odd jumpsuit (although I only have one wintery jumpsuit, the others are very summery!) they’re super comfy and keep my feet really warm. I don’t know if they’re real leather or not, but I don’t think they are, even though that doesn’t really matter anyways! (I couldnt get these into the whole outift photo, thats why theyre in a separate one. Sorryy!

Coat – Zara - My favourite part of this outfit, my beloved trench coat. I love this coat so much, as even though it’s quite thin and light, it keeps me really warm and blocks out the wind very well. The sleeves are quite leathery, whereas the rest of the coat it quite soft. Sometimes I struggle to find an outfit that it works well with, but I feel like it looks great with this one!

Watch – Marc Jacobs -I got this watch for my birthday last year and I wear it almost every day because I love it so much, so obviously, it’s going to be part of this outfit too! It has a grey/light brown leather strap, and the face is a light rose gold colour. There were a few different versions of this watch, but I chose this one because I’m basically obsessed with rose gold!

Necklace – New Look - Finally, this cute little necklace is from New Look. When I saw it in the sale for £1, I knew I had to have it. I bought this last summer and it’s one of my most warn necklaces. I definitely prefer small, dainty necklaces over chunky ones as I feel they just look so much nicer and bring the look together, even though it’s only tiny. This one is two little giraffes with their necks bent together into a little heat shape, which it the bit that made me love it so much.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and your opinions of this outfit are very welcome. If you would like me to do a tutorial of this hairstyle in a future post just let me know, although I may do one anyway! Any other suggestions are also welcome. You can either leave them in the comments below, or tweet me @emzzieboo on twitter. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you in the next post!

January Favourites 2016!

As we've just reached the end of January, I thought I'd write about 8 things I've been loving this month. I've decided I'm going to do one every month from now on, and you guys can check out and try some of my favourites, and see if they become your favourites too!

1-     Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks – I have two of theses, one in the shade ‘Nude-ist’ and the other in the shade ‘Grand Cru’ and they're like a liquid lipstick. I've really been loving these this month, especially the nude one, as I wore a lot of red lips in December and wanted to take a step back this month. I can see why they have the word ‘velvet’ in the name, as they feel so luxurious when applying them, and even though they dry matte, they don’t feel drying or go flaky at all! They are slightly more expensive than a normal drug store lipstick would be, but they're definitely worth the money, and I'm definitely going to collect the rest of them!

2-     Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette -  I know I've gone on about this in previous posts, and you're probably getting a bit sick of hearing about it, but I just love it so much! I love every single shade, they apply really well, they have hardly any fall out (even the very glittery ones!) and are extremely easy to blend. I don’t own any of the other naked palettes, but I really want to invest in them now that I have this one. They are part of the high end industry, but definitely worth the money if your into doing different eye looks!

3-     Blistex Lip Balm – I've had this for a while, but didn't really use it that much. This month I thought I'd give it more of a go, and I can confirm that I absolutely love it! It takes a little getting used to as it has menthol in it and makes your lips feel a little strange, but it really helps dry lips, especially in this cold weather when your lips dry out more. Even if my lips are super dry, I can put this on religiously for a couple of days, and they're back to a looking really healthy, really quickly! What makes this even better you say? Its only £2.30! For a product that works up to this standard, you'd except it to cost at least £5, but it doesn’t even reach that!

4-     Remington Styles Pearl Wand Curling Iron – I've had this for a number of years now, but never really had the time or effort to curl my hair. But this month I fancied a change. I started getting ready a little earlier than I usually would so I have time to curl my hair, and this was what I used. It heats up really quickly, has different heat preferences, and comes with a little bag and glove to protect both you and the wand. From reviews I've read and my own personal experience, this brand is just as good as GHD, but for a much cheaper price as these cost around £30.

5-     Rumours - Fleetwood Mac – This is my favourite Fleetwood Mac album as I love every song on it. I also love some of their other songs, but not the whole albums. This month I listened to the whole album at least 3 times a week, and still do. When I'm doing work, getting ready, just sitting around. Whenever I get the chance, I'll listen to it. If  had to pick a favourite song off the album it would be ‘Dreams’. I don’t really know why, but I just really love it! I use Spotify to listen to it, as well as all my other music. I’d of put Spotify as a proper monthly favourites, but I love it all year round, so it would be in every single one!

6-     Best Fiends Game – This is my favourite game on my phone as the moment. I've had it for ages but kind of stopped playing it for a while. When I watched Velvetgh0st’s video that it was included in a couple of weeks ago, it made me really want to play it again, and now I'm addicted again, and my best friend is too, so we both just sit there seeing who can complete the level first (so sad..haha).

7-     Homemade Potato Wedgies – A few weeks ago, I made these for the first time because I was really craving them, and now I constantly want them! I don’t know if its strange to love chunks of potato with a few herbs on, but I cant help it. I don’t really know what else to say except from I recommend you try making some, because they're delicious! By the way, leave the skin on, its way better!

8-     This Blog! – Of course, my biggest favourite this month has been doing this blog, even though it takes a while to write the posts and take the images for it, and many people would think that doing it takes a lot of boring work. I agree that it’s a lot of hard work, but I really enjoy it! I feel like it’s a way for me to take a break from my school work, even if its still a little bit like work. I find writing a blog just helps me to relax, and take a break from the stress of the world!

Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed reading! If you have any suggestions for future posts don’t forget to leave them in the comments below! Also, if would be great if you could follow my on Instagram @emilyy_forshaww, and on twitter @emzzieboo, this way you'll be able to see when I've uploaded my next post(mainly twitter)!

Sorry it was a late upload too, I had some other stuff to do first!

My Top 7 Favourite Songs At the Moment!

Unfortunately, I've been having a bit of a writer’s block at the moment, as many people do, and I didn't really have many creative ideas, so instead I thought I would tell you the top 7 songs that I've been loving recently. All these songs are on Spotify, as that's what I use to listen to all my music. You may know some of them, others you might never have heard, but by the end of this, you’ll hopefully love them all just as much as I do!

Counting down from number 7 as my least favourite of all my favourites (if that makes sense) to number 1 as my top favourite, let’s get started.

At number 7 is ‘I’m On Fire’ by Bruce Springsteen. I actually really liked the Mumford & Sons cover of this since they performed in when I went to see them in December, but that version isn’t on Spotify, so I've been really getting into the original by Bruce Springsteen instead, and I still love it just as much!

At number 6 is ‘5 Years Time’ by Noah and the Whale. When I was about 10 or 11, I was obsessed with ‘L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.’, but never really listening to any others by them. But the other day I listened to it again, and found ‘5 Years Time’ in the process, I had heard it before, but didn’t know the words or anything, but now I do!

At number 5 is ‘The Girl’ by City and Colour. I found this when I was browsing through Marcus Butler’s Spotify playlist, and it’s now made it onto my main playlist! His playlists are really good too, so check them out if you haven’t already.

At number 4 is ‘The Wolf’ by Mumford & Sons, off the Wilder Mind album. My favourite off this album used to be ‘Believe’, but now it’s definitely ‘The Wolf’. It’s so good and sounds amazing live too! (Watch a live version on YouTube!)

At number 3 is the acoustic version of ‘Sex’ by The 1975. I've always really liked the original version, but when I heard this I was like, "OH MY GOSH I LOOOOVE IT!!" (Literally), and Matty's little smirks in the video (on YouTube) of him singing it are so cute!!

At number 2 is ‘The Sound’ by The 1975. When the released this song the other week, I listened to it once and immediately loved it, as I love many of their other songs too! I also go to see them in March which I am extremely excited about!

And finally, at number 1 is ‘Dreams’ by Fleetwood Mac. I have really been loving the whole of the Rumours album, but Dreams is definitely my favourite! I also really like ‘The Chains’, ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘Don’t Stop’, and ‘Everywhere’ too, but if I could just chose one to listen to, with no doubt, it would be ‘Dreams’.

So, I hope you take a listen to some, or even better, all of these songs, as I can guarantee you will love at least one of them after listening to it! I'm also very interested to see what your top 3 songs are, so put them in the comments below, I'll have a listen if I haven't heard them already, and I'll give you my opinions on your choices! Don’t forget to follow my Spotify - Emily Forshaw - and any playlists on my account too if you want!

Thank you for reading, and I'm very sorry that this post is extremely short, but I have a lot going on at school at the moment and just haven't had the time to plan some more posts! I promise you, in the next couple of weeks things will be back up to scratch.

Thanks again and I hope you enjoyed it nevertheless!

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Review & Swatches!

For this week’s post, I’m going to give you a review and swatches of the newest Naked palette, Naked Smoky. Going from the left side to the right side of the palette, here are the shades in the palette, and the swatch of the shadows on my hand.

1-  HIGH– This is the most glittery shade in the palette and one of my favourites and most used. Although it has a kind of pink tint to it, I just lightly use it over the top of other shadows to make them more shimmery and glittery, because I prefer that to matte shades. If I’m just doing an everyday look with very little shadow, I will just apply this to all on my eyelid to add some shimmer instead of layering it though. It also blends out very well and has very little fallout, which is great since I do my foundation first.

2- DIRTYSWEET – This shade is also one of my favourites as I love doing gold eyes with red or plum lips. This is the only golden shade in the palette and is more of a bronze-gold than a bright gold, which I also love as I don’t have a single shade like it. This shadow is also a shimmery shade, which makes me love it even more. Again, it has very little fallout and blends extremely well like all the other shadows in the palette.

3- RADAR – This is another shimmery shade and a dark brown colour, although in bright lighting it looks as though there are little specks of gold in it. This is a great colour for in the crease to add definition to the eye, especially if you’re going for an all shimmer look. As I said for the last shadow, it blends very well and has very little fallout. (I won’t add this to the rest of the reviews for each shade as you’ve probably gathered that they’re all like this now, and I feel like I’m repeating myself!)
4-  ARMOR – Again, this is a shimmery shade in a light slate/sliver colour. I love this shade as a party look, especially for an occasion such as New Year or bonfire night. This shade is a little more glittery than the others, but is about as glittery as ‘HIGH’. I think this would also work great as a bit of a transition shade from black or dark grey too!

5-  SLANTED – This shade is pretty similar to ‘ARMOR’ but is slightly darker so it’s more of a light slate grey. This, once again, is a shimmery shade, but not as glittery as ‘ARMOR’. There’s just a little shimmer in it to add more to the beautiful shadow. Again, this would work well as a transition shade, especially for a more matte look just to add a little party shimmer to it.
6-DAGGER – This is the first matte shade in the palette and is a dark slate colour. As this one is completely matte, I think it would be great to use in the crease to add a little definition to the eye without just using a simple brown shade.

7- BLACK MARKET – This is the darkest shadow in the palette as it is just a matte black. I like to just run a little of this in my lower lash line when I do a bit of a darker look as I feel it balances it out really well as it’s just a simple shade and isn’t shimmery. As these shadows blend so well, I really like to use it to add more to a light smoky look. After all, that it the palettes name!

8- SMOLDER – This is the last shimmer shade in the palette and is a dark purple/plum shade. I like this as it is a little more subtle that just matte black, but is still a bold colour to use in a dark smoky eye, which is my main use for it! I also like to use this along my lower lash line for when the eyes aren't as dark as sometimes the black can be a little too heavy.

9- PASSWORD – This one is pretty similar to ‘DAGGER’ but more of a lighter grey tone. Again, this would make a great transition tone from the matte black and it is also great for defining the crease a little.

10-  WHISKEY – This is also a matte shade in a simple darkish brown colour. I like this one for defining the crease (I seem to like most of them for this reason! Haha) and sometimes when I’m being lazy and can’t be bothered to get my smashbox palette out, I’ll lightly apply it to fill in my eyebrows, although it is quite dark, and I have gone a little overboard with it sometimes, whoops!

11-  COMBUST- This is my go to eyeshadow for a base as it is just a champagne/ very light brown colour, although, if I’m going for a more ‘no makeup’ look, I’ll just put a little in my crease to define my eye very slightly.

12-  THIRTEEN - Finally, this shade is a very light champagne colour and I love using this for my inner corner and my brow bone if I want to brighten up my eyes and lift my brows, without using a shimmery highlighter. Though, again, if I’m having a ‘no makeup’ makeup day then I will apply it all over the lid to add a little brightness and make ‘COMBUST’ stand out a little more.

Overall, I really love all of these shades, and use every single one of them. This, for me, is very rare, as there’s usually at least one shade I will never use. I love this palette so much that it is now my go to palette. Even though it’s called ‘Smoky’, don’t let that put you off if you’re not a fan of dark eyeshadow, as there are quite a few lighter shades that are all just as beautiful as the dark ones. This palette is more on the pricey side at £34.20 -£38 depending where you buy it from, but definitely worth it if you’re into your eyeshadows and like to treat yourself to something a little more expensive every once in a while! I didn’t actually buy this myself though, as my best friend Kathryn bought it for me for Christmas which was VERY naughty of her because it’s so expensive! Even if she hadn’t bought it for me, I still would have invested in it at some point because I knew that I would at least try all the colours in it, but it turns out I like them all! I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking to add a new palette to their collection or even if you’re just starting out! (Although it may be a little expensive for that!)

Oh, and I nearly forgot! The double ended brush in this palette is also AMAZING! One end is more of a fluffy brush for blending out the eyeshadows, and the other is for applying and blending in smaller areas like the crease (at least that’s what I use it for!). This is another reason I love this palette because they provide you with a proper brush than just one of them silly sponge things!

Pretty Little Liars: Alison DiLaurentis Makeup Tutorial!

Hey guys! So this week’s post is going to be an Alison DiLaurentis inspired makeup look, as the new season of PLL started this week, which I was very excited about! So, is honour of Pretty Little Liars returning, I thought I’d do a makeup tutorial of one of the girls! If you enjoy this tutorial and would like me to do another one of the girls, let me know in the comments!

So, to start with, apply your normal foundation (as this is only inspired, I’m not recreating her completely!) I’m using Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation in Shade 2. This foundation is medium to full coverage, which is perfect for Alison.

After this, lightly powder your face with a translucent powder, just to set the foundation a little, we don’t want it to look cakey or too full coverage with a pigmented powder. For this, I’m using Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent.

Alison doesn’t have that much contour but has quite rosy cheeks, so applying a little bit of bronzer down the cheekbones, temples and across the forehead, just sculpts your face a little, and bronzes you up a bit! For this I’m using Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze 022.(The image is of the back of it because the writing has rubbed of the front, oops..) For blusher I’m applying a little MAC ‘Pink Swoon’ to the apples of my cheeks. I haven’t applied too much as I’m not a fan of lots of blush, so if you want to add a little more, just go for it! (Be careful not to overdo it though!!)

Next are the eyebrows. Alison’s eyebrows are quite bold, but still look natural so for this I used my Smashbox Shape Matters palette, and from the eyebrow section, the shade 'taupe', which is the lighter one. For the eyebrows, use an angled eyebrow/eyeliner brush, and apply the powder in quick strokes to keep it natural, but bold. After this, I used Maybelline Brow Drama in transparent, just to keep the hairs and powder in place, but you can set this using a wax instead too, whatever you prefer!

For the eyeshadow, I started with the shade ‘posh’ from the eye section of the Smashbox Shape Matters palette and applied it all over my lid. This colour is a rose pink and a little bit shimmery, which is great for Alison. As Alison’s is slightly more pink than this, I then applied a tiny bit of the dark pink shade from the Revolution Dia De Los Muertos eyeshadow palette, and blended out the edges of the two shades to make it softer.

After this, I used the light peach shade called ‘thirteen’ from the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette and the white shade from the e.l.f. eye brightening shadow to the inside part of my lid, my inner eye corner, and the inside part of my lower lash line to make my eyes brighter.

Next, I used the shade ‘black market’ from the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette, which is just a matte black colour, and lined my lid with it. This doesn’t have to be neat, as you blend and smoke it out a little to soften the look up anyway.

Finally, I lined all the way along my lower lash line using Estee Lauder blackened black pencil eyeliner to add more definition to the eye and balance out the colours. I need a new one of these. This one’s a mess don’t you think?!

To finish of the eyes, I applied two coats of Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara to my top lashes, and one coat of M.A.C. False Lashes Extreme Black mascara to my bottom lashes.

To complete the makeup, I lightly applied a bright pink lipstick from Revolution to my lips. It doesn’t have a name on it to help you find it if you want to buy it, sorry!! As this is quite a matte lipstick, I then applied a pink tinted lip gloss over the top. This one is a winterspice scented one from Tesco that my auntie got me for Christmas. It smells amazing and isn't sticky on the lips either!

To finish the whole look, curl the bottom half of your hair, (tie it into a high ponytail first, it’s a lot quicker and easier!) and put on a white/ grey jumper and some plain black leggings (you can only see the jumper in these images) and you’re ready to go! This look can be used as an everyday makeup look, a party look, or a PLL themed party/day look, as it’s not too smoky and dramatic, but not really simple either!

                                                               This the final look!

So, thank you for reading and I hope you like this Alison DiLaurentis inspired makeup (and hair I suppose) tutorial. If you try this out be sure to tweet me a picture of it! My twitter username is @emzzieboo, be sure to follow me too! Also, if you’re wondering what image I used as reference, it’s the photo of Alison at the top of this post! Thanks again for reading and I’ll see you next week!

What I Got For Christmas 2015!

WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS 2015!
First of all, I'M BACK! And this time, I'm going to do this blog properly. Over the last week or so, I have planned a few future posts for the next month. (there will be more too though) I've decided that I am going to post at least one a week, every Friday at about 5pm (UK time), I might do a couple sometimes, but we’ll see how things go and how busy I am with school and my exams, so no promises on several posts a week!

This week’s post is about some of the things I got for Christmas; I'm not including everything as there is just too much and this post would be never ending, so instead, I've picked 12 things I got at random, including my two main presents.

1.  My first main present I got was off my dad and step-mum, which is a Crosley Cruiser record player in light blue. I’ve wanted a record player for ages, so when I found this one, I was like “I NEED IT!!” I liked this one as it is like a brief case, so it closes up and has a handle, making it easy to carry with you wherever you want to take it. It also has built in speakers, which are a lot louder than I was expecting, although you can still plug larger speakers or amplifiers in if you really want to. This inside of the lid part is white with ‘CROSLEY’ written on it, and the actual part for playing the records is black. If your into your music, I would definitely recommend one of these as they give off a different kind of vibe to just downloading a song or listening to a CD. They also aren’t that expensive either, but buying the vinyl records to play on it can get a little pricey, especially newer albums.

2.  As I got the player, I of course got given some albums to play on it. Off my dad and step-mum, I got: Arctic Monkeys – AM, Taylor Swift – 1989, Ben Howard – I Forget Where We Were, and Mumford & Sons – Wilder Mind. I then got Adele – 25 of my step-mums mum too. Although all these are pretty new albums, they all sound really different on vinyl as it isn't perfect quality due to the way they are made, which it what I really love about it. Considering I got money for Christmas too, I decided to buy a few more. These were: Bon Iver – Bon Iver, Paolo Nutini – Caustic Love, and the old Grease soundtrack.

3.  As you may or may not know, I love Zoë Sugg's beauty range (Zoella), so I received the ‘Cosy Toesy’ set. This includes a pair of cute, fluffy socks that are blue with white polka dots and a tube of the ‘Soak Opera’ bath and shower cream, which smells AMAZINGGG! The socks are really cosy and comfy, and the bath and shower cream is great, even for sensitive skin (which I have) but it doesn't irritant my skin one bit, which is another reason why I love this product! I've put the socks back in the box to show you what it looks like by the way, I don’t keep them in it!

4. To go along with my socks and keep me nice and toasty, I got a blanket/ throw, that's super fluffy and massive too! I'm unsure of the brand as I have thrown away the packaging, but if I find out I’ll let you know! Now, you know you have a good blanket when your cat uses it more than you do. She literally gets under the blanket and goes to sleep for hours on end. She loves it! This blanket is like a mocha brown colour, with dark brown and white patterns on it that are very pretty, and it goes with my stag and tartan bedding perfectly!

 5. My other main present was an outfit for Christmas day, which is a bit of a tradition we have, and every year, I choose an outfit I want to wear on Christmas day and I'm not allowed it until Christmas morning, so it’s all wrapped up along with my other presents. From this outfit, the plain white, long sleeve roll neck top is from ASOS, the glittery, very festive tights are from Dorothy Perkins, although I picked them up in Outfit. The pinafore dress is from Topshop and is a dark green colour, but looks kind of black in dull lighting. I still love it though! The boots are from Topshop too. I've wanted Chelsea boots for ages and always stole my sisters, so when I was picking the outfit, I thought boots would go really well with it and found the perfect pair from the Topshop website. Finally, the coat is from Zara, which I actually got in September because it was in the sale and I loved it, but I still only got it on Christmas day.

6. This present wasn't part of the outfit I picked, although I saw it and really wanted it, not knowing my dad was buying it at the time, so I also wore this on Christmas day as I thought burgundy and dark green so well together. This hat is from Primark and its sort off floppy, but not really floppy, as I don’t like really big hats on me, so this one was perfect!

7. Off my brother, I got Zoë Sugg’s ‘Girl Online’ in paperback. I had already read this book as I have the hardback version, but the paperback is a lot smaller but thicker, making it easier to take it with me on the bus, train, or wherever I'm going to, so I'm very happy he bought it for me and it’s one of a few books that I like so much that I re-read it!

8. My brother also got be one of ‘The Great British Bake-off’ recipe books too, which is full of Mary and Paul’s recipes, and some others that were made on the programme, as he knows how much I like watching it and how much I like baking things too, especially things I haven’t made before!

 9.  Along with these books, he also got me an adorable silicone set of six mini owl cake moulds that I can use to create little edible owls out of. It’s so cute! I'm also going to use the cake recipes out of the book and change them from traditional cupcakes shape to the owls, which, as well as looking amazing, will taste amazing too. You have no idea how much I love cake...

10. Next, off my sister, she bought be a little solar powered pug that’s like of them beckoning cats which are a common Japanese figure. They have one in my chippy down the road, and I always say I want one; to receive a pug version is so cool because I really want an actual pug. I still want a traditional cat one though! It’s called Edmond too, which we all find hilarious because we find everything hilarious, including ourselves.

11. Another present off my sister was a leopard print travel Tangle Teezer. I have one of the original ones too, but sometimes I use small bags, and I can’t fit it in, so she thought it would be a great idea to get me a travel size one. This is better to take with me because it has a cover for the bristles too. This way, they won’t get bend or broken, so hopefully it will last longer than my first ever Tangle Teezer I had, which lasted like, 6 months, but could have lasted longer.

12. The final present I am going to be writing about is off my bestest ever friend, Kathryn, who I have known since Nursery. As well as getting me a Mumford & Sons t-shirt from when we went to see them in Manchester (which was INCREDIBLE!!) she bought me Urban Decays Naked Smokey eyeshadow palette. I have wanted this from when it first came out, but I could never get it because I couldn’t afford it as I don’t have a job yet. It’s now my go-to eyeshadow palette for whenever I go out, even if it’s just to town or something because I love it so so much. I'm not going to go into too much detail about it because I'm going to do a separate post on it with all the swatches of each shadow and stuff, so let’s just say, it’s very beautiful and I love every colour in it, which is very rare for me.

So, these are some of the things I got for Christmas, along with many others that I am very grateful for. Just to throw it out there, I’m not doing this to show off about what I’ve got, I’m doing it because I just thought some of you might be interested in what I got, as I know I love watching videos and reading blogs about what other people got, because I’m nosy sometimes. Is that bad? I don’t know. Anyway, thank you all for reading this and leave any suggests for future posts below! I realise this is quite long, so well done if you made it this far! Give yourself a pat on the back!

Thanks again for reading! Emily x
